The Diocese of Algoma Synod Office will close for Christmas at noon on Friday, December 21st, 2018 and re-open in the New Year on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
We are saddened to announce that The Rev. Ted Reinhardt, a retired priest living in Elliot Lake, died peacefully on December 2, 2018 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elliot Lake at the age of 86.
Prayers are requested again for the Rev. Ted Reinhardt, Honourary Emeritus at St. Saviour’s, Blind River, and resident of Elliot Lake.

By now, many of you have heard the news that our Bishop was elected at the recent convocation of Provincial Synod, October 9-12, to serve as Ontario’s new Metropolitan. She will be installed to this office on October 11th during the Synod at Christ Church Cathedral, Ottawa, Primate Fred Hiltz will serve as preacher.
The Covenanting Service between Joan Morris and Trillium Anglican Parish will take place on Sunday, October 14th at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s in Powassan.
Bishop Anne has been elected to serve as the next Metropolitan of the Province of Ontario. Elected on the first ballot, here she takes the podium for the first time at Provincial Synod in Ottawa.
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Anne Oosterbaan on Tuesday, October 2nd in Sault Ste. Marie following a brief illness. Anne was the wife of Din Oosterbaan, former Diocesan Treasurer and current Provincial Synod Treasurer.
