Cathedral Church of St. Luke

The Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Sault Ste. Marie is the cathedral church of the Diocese of Algoma and holds a special place in the life and history of the Diocese.
As the seat of the Bishop of Algoma, the Cathedral is a centre of diocesan worship, prayer, and celebration. It is the church where many of the Diocese’s most significant liturgies and gatherings take place, including ordinations, installations, diocesan celebrations, and services that mark important moments in the life of the wider Church and community.
Located in the heart of Sault Ste. Marie, St. Luke’s has long served as both a parish church and a diocesan gathering place. Its history reflects the growth of Anglican ministry in Northern Ontario and the enduring witness of the Church in the region.
Today, the Cathedral continues to be a place of welcome, spiritual formation, and community engagement, serving both the local congregation and the wider Diocese of Algoma.
