Highlights from the June Executive Committee Meeting
Meeting at Thorneloe University from June 3–4, the Diocese of Algoma Executive Committee gathered for worship, fellowship, and discussion of initiatives supporting ministry across the diocese. Conversations included Anglican Foundation grant applications, a proposed church asset disposal resource, redevelopment of the diocesan website, and reports celebrating faithful ministry and growth throughout Algoma.

National Indigenous Day of Prayer
In this message for National Indigenous Day of Prayer, Archbishop Anne Germond reflects on the importance of reconciliation and highlights ministries across the Diocese of Algoma that serve Indigenous peoples and communities. From education and cultural revitalization to counselling, friendship, and community-building, these ministries offer powerful examples of healing, partnership, and hope in action.

Seasons & Saints: Finishing the Week of June 7
This week’s liturgical note highlights the National Indigenous Day of Prayer and reflects on the Church’s calling to participate in God’s work of reconciliation. The note also offers devotional resources for the commemorations of Joseph Butler, Bishop of Durham, and Bernard Mizeki, catechist and martyr in Zimbabwe, whose faithful witness continues to inspire Christians today.

Belonging Comes First
In this personal reflection, Archbishop Anne Germond explores a simple but powerful conviction: before believing comes belonging. Drawing on her own experiences and recent conversations about children, youth, and family ministry, she reflects on how churches can create communities where young people know they are valued, welcomed, and loved—laying the foundation for lifelong faith.
