Lay Readers and other interested Anglicans are invited to gather in Sudbury from September 24–27, 2026, for the 2026 Lay Readers’ Conference, Bring God’s Grace and Love. Hosted in partnership with Thorneloe University, the event includes a public lecture, a theological intensive on Indigenous biblical interpretation led by Rev. Dr. H. Daniel Zacharias, keynote presentations, practical ministry sessions, worship, and opportunities for fellowship and renewal.

Refugee Sunday in Algoma

Archbishop Anne Germond has designated August 23, 2026, as Refugee Sunday throughout the Diocese of Algoma. Responding to an invitation from the Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, congregations are encouraged to pray for displaced people, reflect on the Christian call to hospitality, and make use of worship and educational resources prepared by Alongside Hope and its Refugee Network.

The service marked an important milestone in Benjamin’s ministry as he committed himself to serving Christ and the Church through the servant ministry of the diaconate.

Restoration of Historic Anglican Cemetery

Community members of all ages are invited to take part in a Garden River Anglican Cemetery clean-up on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The event will focus on caring for this important place of remembrance through grounds maintenance, headstone cleaning, and community stewardship, while providing opportunities for fellowship and volunteer service.

Gearing Up for Summer

Clergy from throughout the Muskoka Deanery gathered at St. Mark’s, Milford Bay, on June 9 for a Clericus BBQ, enjoying fellowship, conversation, and mutual encouragement ahead of the summer season. For Muskoka parishes, July and August are among the busiest months of the year as churches welcome cottagers, seasonal residents, and visitors from around the world.
