Archbishop Anne Germond is pleased to announce the upcoming ordination (God willing) of Joan Morris to the sacred order of deacons joining Kate Scott and Val Paterson on Saturday, June 6, 2020, 1 p.m. at St. Paul and St. John, Haileybury.  The Venerable Linda White will be the preacher.

Joan is currently the Lay Incumbent of Trillium Anglican Parish.  She holds a Master of Divinity from Wycliffe College.  She retired after 42 years in the financial services industry and, discerning a call to ordained ministry, began her studies at Wycliffe.  She has a variety of church/ministry experience and has held the following positions:  member of Advisory Council, Assistant Treasurer and Envelope Secretary (Nova Scotia); Lay Reader, Deputy People’s Warden, People’s Warden (Orillia); led Bible talks/study plus a Bible study for the Christian Union on Fridays while on summer placement at No Boh Academy, No Boh, Thailand.  She also taught English to grades 7 and 8, and reading, writing and comprehension to grades 11 and 12 while in Thailand.

We uphold Joan in prayer as she prepares for her ordination in June.
