Archbishop Anne Germond is pleased to announce the following appointments in the Diocese of Algoma:

EMMAUS (Sault Ste. Marie)

The Rev. Canon Bob Elkin has been appointed as Interim Incumbent of the parish commencing on July 1st, 2019.  We uphold Canon Bob and the parish in prayer as they prepare to undertake this ministry together.

CHRIST CHURCH/ST. PETER’S (Sault Ste. Marie)

The Rev. Raymond Knight has been appointed as Interim Incumbent of Christ Church and St. Peter’s commencing on August 1st, 2019.  Rev. Raymond comes to Algoma from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church (Winnipeg) in the Diocese of Rupert’s Land.  He has thirty-eight years of work, study and service experience in the Anglican Church.  He was first commissioned as a Church Army Officer in 1980.  In February of 1997 he was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Saskatoon.

We welcome Raymond and his wife, Judy, to the Diocese of Algoma and uphold them and the congregations of Christ Church and St. Peter’s in prayer as they prepare to begin this new ministry together.

MANITOULIN ISLAND PARISHES

The Rev. Doug Prebble has been appointed as full-time Incumbent of the Manitoulin Island Parishes consisting of St. Paul’s (Manitowaning), St. Francis of Assisi (Mindemoya), Holy Trinity (Little Current), All Saints’ (Gore Bay), and St. John the Evangelist (Kagawong) commencing April 15, 2019.  Doug has been the Interim Incumbent for these parishes since April 2018.  The parishes and Rev. Doug felt God calling them into a continued ministry together and we are thankful for the commitment and dedication expressed by them for a fresh approach to ministry on the Island.

EMSDALE/ALMAGUIN

The Rev. Judie Cooper has been appointed as part-time Interim Incumbent of the Parish of Emsdale/Almaguin consisting of Good Shepherd (Emsdale), Grace Church (South River), St. George’s (Magnetawan), and St. John’s (Eagle Lake).  Her appointment will commence on June 1st, 2019.  We uphold Rev. Judie and the Parish of Emsdale/Almaguin in prayer as they prepare to begin ministry together during this transitional period.
