The Ordination of the Rev. Benjamin Paul
The Diocese of Algoma gathered at St. Luke’s Cathedral in Sault Ste. Marie on June 24 to celebrate the ordination of the Rev. Benjamin Paul to the sacred order of deacons.
Surrounded by family, friends, clergy, and members of the diocesan community, Benjamin affirmed his calling to ordained ministry, making the vows of the diaconate and committing himself to faithfully serve Christ and the Church.
Ordination to the diaconate marks an important milestone in the life of the Church. Deacons are called to serve those in need, proclaim the Gospel, assist in worship, and help connect the Church’s ministry with the needs of the wider community, embodying Christ’s servant ministry in the world.
We give thanks to God for Benjamin’s ministry and ask your prayers as he begins this new chapter of ordained service in the Diocese of Algoma.
