Archbishop Anne Germond is pleased to announce the following appointments:

 

The Reverend Kelly Baetz as Incumbent of All Saints’, Huntsville, commencing February 11, 2020.

The Archbishop also is pleased to announce that Rev. Kelly has accepted her appointment as Archdeacon for the Deanery of Muskoka effective January 1, 2020.  A date of collation is yet to be determined.

Rev. Kelly is the current Incumbent of St. Thomas, Bracebridge, (2006) and the Parish of Lake of Bays (2019) and Regional Dean for the Deanery of Muskoka.  She holds a Bachelor of Journalism (Honours in Journalism and English) from Carleton University, a Certificate in Anglican Studies from St. Paul University, and a Master of Divinity (Honours) from Wycliffe College.  She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Missional Leadership and Formation from Wycliffe College (May 2016).

Kelly, her children, Gregory and Claire, and her husband, Bill King, live in Bracebridge and will remain there following the appointment at All Saints’.

We congratulate Kelly on these new appointments and ask that you uphold her, her family, and All Saints’, Huntsville, in prayer as they prepare to begin ministry together.  We also ask that you keep St. Thomas’ and Lake of Bays in your prayers as they prepare to enter a period of transition.

 

 

The Reverend Catherine Murkin as the Incumbent for the Parish of Good Shepherd (Emsdale) and Almaguin comprised of Grace Church (South River), St. John (Eagle Lake), and St. George (Magnetawan) commencing on February 15, 2020.

Rev. Catherine joins the Diocese of Algoma from the Diocese of Moosonee where she is the current Incumbent of St. Peter’s on the Rock in Kirkland Lake and Regional Dean for the Watershed Deanery.

Rev. Catherine came to Ontario from New Brunswick where she was very involved in Threshold Ministries and is a Commissioned Evangelist in that organization. She has completed the residential training program for Threshold Ministries through the Taylor College of Mission and Evangelism (2008 -2010) and has taken courses through the Atlantic School of Theology and Wycliffe College towards a Master of Divinity program.

We welcome Catherine and her dog, Honey, to Algoma and congratulate her on this appointment.  We ask that you uphold her and the Parish of the Good Shepherd/Almaguin in your prayers as they prepare to undertake ministry together.  We also ask that you keep St. Peter’s on the Rock, Kirkland Lake, in your prayers as they enter a time of transition.

 

The Reverend Nancy Ringham as Interim Incumbent of St. Michael and All Angels, Thunder Bay, effective December 1, 2019.  Rev. Nancy has recently retired from Hilldale Lutheran Church in Thunder Bay and offered ministry to St. Michael and All Angels as they enter this time of transition.  She is well known in the Deanery of Thunder Bay – North Shore and was the former Incumbent of the Parish of West Thunder Bay.  We welcome Nancy back and ask that you uphold her and the parish in prayer as they commence ministry together.
