The Diocese of Algoma extends its congratulations to The Rev. Thomas Ferris on his appointment to a new ministry in the Diocese of Moosonee.
The appointment was announced by Bishop Rod BrantFrancis on June 28. Thomas will serve at St. Matthew’s in Timmins and Iroquois Falls, continuing his ministry in Northern Ontario.
Thomas has served in the Diocese of Algoma as Incumbent of Church of the Redeemer, Thessalon, and St. Saviour’s, Blind River, having been appointed to those parishes in September 2023. Prior to that appointment, he served as Deacon Associate at St. James, Goulais River, where he completed the internship requirements for his Master of Divinity degree at Trinity College. He is also a graduate of Thorneloe University, earning a Diploma of Theology (2021), a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Religious Studies (2021), and a Bachelor of Theology (2022).
Please join us in offering our prayers for Thomas, his wife Amanda, their daughter Amelie, and the parish communities of St. Matthew’s in Timmins and Iroquois Falls as they begin this new chapter of ministry together. May God bless them with wisdom, strength, and joy in the work that lies ahead.
