On July 1, Trinity Anglican Church in Parry Sound gathered to celebrate a truly remarkable milestone as Garnet and Charleen Allen marked their 65th wedding anniversary. Surrounded by family, friends, and their church community, the couple was honoured for a lifetime of love, faithfulness, and service.
Archbishop Anne Germond shared her congratulations in a special letter, reflecting on the significance of such an extraordinary anniversary:
“Sixty-five years of marriage is a remarkable milestone and a testament to a lifetime of love, faithfulness, perseverance, and shared commitment. Through the seasons of life, you have journeyed together, supporting one another and bearing witness to the enduring strength of a covenant rooted in love.”
The celebration included time with family and parishioners, as well as a visit from the Rev. Cory Brunatti, who shared in the festivities and offered congratulations on behalf of the wider church.
As the Diocese of Algoma joins in celebrating this special occasion, we give thanks for Garnet and Charleen’s enduring example of love lived out in faith. Their story reminds us that Christian marriage is not simply measured in years, but in the countless acts of kindness, perseverance, forgiveness, and shared devotion that shape a lifetime together.
