Honouring the Stewards of Our Church Communities

Across the Diocese of Algoma, our church communities thrive because of the quiet, steadfast efforts of people who serve—not for recognition, but out of love.

Some take on roles like wardens, treasurers, or lay readers. Others lend their gifts behind the scenes, with no formal title but a heart for service that is no less vital. Whether it’s preparing meals, visiting the sick, writing letters of encouragement, or offering prayers, their contributions radiate the compassion and grace of Christ in everyday ways.

This fall, we want to shine a light on these remarkable individuals.

We have invited every incumbent and their wardens to nominate three members from their congregations whose selfless service has deeply enriched their faith communities and, in turn, our shared life in Christ.

These are the people who show up, again and again, embodying the spirit of generosity that strengthens our church family. Their actions may be quiet, but their impac is profound.
