The Board of Governors of Thorneloe University has announced the appointment of the Rev. Jason Tripp as President and Vice Chancellor, effective September 1, 2025.

“Rev. Tripp, a pastor, theologian, and chaplain, is a forward-thinking, collaborative leader with more than fifteen years of visionary pastoral leadership,” says the release from Thorneloe University. “His formal business education and experience, coupled with a pastoral and theological formation, provides the necessary leadership skills to lead, learn, and love well in an environment positioned for growth and fresh vision.”

Rev. Tripp has served since 2018 as Assistant Chaplain at Thorneloe and more recently as a Course Supervisor. For the past 15 years, he has been Lead Pastor of Valleyview Community Church in Greater Sudbury. He is also completing a PhD in Open and Relational Theology at Northwind Seminary, with a doctoral dissertation focusing on the films of Terrence Malick.

Thorneloe’s Board of Governors expressed gratitude to Stacy Allarie-Sathaseevan, who provided leadership as Interim President and Vice Chancellor over the past year. She will return to her duties at Laurentian University while continuing as Dean of Residence at Thorneloe.

The Thorneloe community looks forward to Rev. Tripp’s “leadership, vision and passion for academic freedom, creativity, collaboration, diversity and inclusion, personal wellness, and the common good.”
