A Holy Land pilgrimage for young adults is being coordinated by the General Synod of The Anglican Church of Canada (with support from Craig Travel) for May 2023. The 12-day experience will include: excursions to Nazareth, Jerusalem, Bethlehem; morning and evening prayer; as well as personal and group reflection. It truly has the potential to be a trip with a long-lasting impact for young adults in our Church!

Applicants from Algoma need to be 20-26 years old and will require a letter of endorsement from the Archbishop (to be uploaded with their application). Fifteen to twenty applicants from across the country will be selected for the pilgrimage.

While the cost of the trip will be $5,095, much of that expense will be subsidized by donations and by General Synod, with a minimum of $1,500 as the financial commitment required of each participant, plus travel and medical insurance. Support with fundraising will also be made available through General Synod.

If you are eligible, I encourage you to apply. If you know someone in the age bracket you think may be interested in, and benefit from this trip, please share this information with them and encourage your congregation to lend its support.

Preparing for this experience will begin this summer. So the deadline for applications is June 24. Interviews and group selection will take place in the weeks that follow.
