Thorneloe University News – New President Appointed
The Thorneloe Board of Governors is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Canon Dr. John Gibaut as President, Provost and Vice-Chancellor of Thorneloe University effective June 1, 2019.
For the past 11 years, Dr. Gibaut has held senior executive leadership positions within two global church organizations, the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland and the Anglican Communion Office in London, England.
A priest of the Diocese of Ottawa, Dr. Gibaut is well known in ecumenical circles, having served on national and international dialogues and commissions. He has been a member of the Anglican-Roman Catholic Dialogue of Canada, the Faith and Witness Commission of the Canadian Council of Churches, the International Commission for Anglican-Orthodox Theological Dialogue, and the Inter-Anglican Standing Commission on Edumenical Relations.
