Muskoka Youth Unplugged Seeks Community Input

Community Partnership Initiative Seeks Community Input Ahead of Fall Relaunch

MUSKOKA DEANERY — Organizers of Youth Unplugged are inviting local families to help shape the future of the community-based youth program as preparations begin for its September relaunch.

Designed as a tech-free space for children and youth in Grades 1 through 8, Youth Unplugged offers opportunities to build friendships, explore creativity, and connect with others through shared activities. The program has been meeting at Frost Hall, located at the Church of the Redeemer in Rosseau, for the past two years.

This fall, organizers hope to expand the program by alternating gatherings between Rosseau and Raymond.

Youth Unplugged is a collaborative initiative involving the Church of the Redeemer, Evergreen Pastoral Charge (United Church of Canada), community volunteers, and Seguin Township.

As the planning team prepares for a new season of monthly gatherings, they are seeking feedback from local families and youth about the types of activities they would like to see offered.

Suggestions already under consideration include arts-based activities, community service projects, fundraising efforts for local charities, drama evenings, game nights, and clothing exchanges. Organizers say they are eager to hear additional ideas that reflect the interests and needs of young people in the community.

The planning team will meet throughout the summer to develop the upcoming year’s schedule and hopes to announce event dates well in advance of the September launch.

Community members wishing to share ideas or provide feedback can contact Youth Unplugged through its Facebook Messenger page or by email at pamelajoy179@gmail.com.
