We asked teens around Algoma a few questions about their faith.

Here’s what they said (Shared with permission)

"God is loving, forgiving, reliable, helpful, and full of grace. I’m a Christian because I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and that he died for me and has helped me through ssssssoooooooo much and made my life better and I want other people to experience that." – Rachel, 14

"I have fun with being a Christian. I like being with other people that I can feel confident with. Being with supportive people. Being a Christian allows me to step back from this busy world and breathe." – Meghan, 19

"God is powerful, smart, big, awesome, and nice."Andrew, 14

"Being a Christian is just believing in God and wanting him in your life. I go to stuff like Youth Synod because it just feels right and you get to meet new people (my best friend). Going to church and doing things with God just feels good." – Samantha, 15

"God is awesome, powerful, forgiving, loving, unimaginably powerful! Christians must believe in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and they have to ask Him into their hearts and ask forgiveness of their sins. I’m a Christian because I really want to be saved and go to heaven." – Liisa, 13

"Being a Christian means doing good works for all humanity in the name of Jesus Christ." – Charles, 16

"I think that being a Christian is not just about going to church and saying that you believe in Jesus. Being a Christian is about actually doing the things that Jesus taught. I think God is forgiving, powerful, good, understanding, and an excellent listener." – Andrew, 15

"I enjoy being a Christian because it is full of surprises. I find that as a Christian I am able to ask God and others for guidance with any issues that may arise. I am also involved with church activities because I feel that is a great way to have fellowship and watch God work in others as well as yourself." – Kathryn, 17

"I have always known God was real, and finally I came to a point in my life when everything seemed hopeless, and I knew that I had to steady my gaze on Jesus, because He is more than trustworthy, and He has the answers for my life, and the world." – Jonathan, 20
