Bishop Andrews is pleased to announce the appointment of The Rev. George Kwari to the full-time Incumbency of the Parish of Callander, Powassan and Restoule, and the Chaplaincy of St John’s, Chisholm, effective 1 September 2011. Father George has a Diploma in Pastoral Theology from Bishop Gaul College in Harare, Zimbabwe; a Bachelor of Divinity (Hons) from Africa University; and a Master in Pastoral Theology from St Paul University, Ottawa. Made Deacon in the Diocese of Manicaland in 2005, and a Priest in 2006, he served as Assistant Priest in the Cathedral Parish of St John the Baptist in Mutare. In 2008 his wife, Epiphania, took a job in the Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe in Ottawa. Father George was Assistant Priest at St Thomas the Apostle, Alta Vista, in the Diocese of Ottawa before filling a maternity leave at St Thomas’, Bracebridge in 2010. From there he went to the Parish of Callander, Powassan and Restoule as the Interim Incumbent. When the Concurrence Committee unanimously and enthusiastically petitioned the bishop to have him appointed as permanent Incumbent, Bishop Andrews agreed to their request. George and Epiphania were pleased to welcome their second child, Ropafadzo (her name means ‘God’s blessing’), born on 5 August.
