Becoming the Story We Tell!
Imagine your congregation re-entering the deep drama of the gospel through liturgy, scripture study, and reflection! Imagine the whole community gathering at Easter with a renewed gratitude for the connection between baptism and our annual immersion in the story of Christ's passion! Imagine this renewal spilling over into joy in mission and outreach!
In his column in the December edition of the Algoma Anglican, Bishop Stephen expressed his deep conviction that “our Church will discover untapped resources when we become what we believe we are.” Therefore, as follow up on the fall’s successful “Lift Up Your Hearts” initiative, he encouraged us to go “deeper into our discipleship” by using a resource called “Becoming the Story We Tell.”
“Becoming the Story We Tell” is a resource developed for the Anglican Church of Canada, at the Primate’s request, for use in Lent and Easter. It draws on the lectionary, the baptismal covenant, and our authorized liturgical rites, and it can be easily adapted to your congregation needs.
Gatherings are being held throughout the Diocese in January for a one-day deep-dive into this material.
