It is with regret that the Bishop has accepted the resignation of The Reverend GailMarie Henderson as Incumbent of the North Muskoka Pioneer Parish. She was appointed as Lay Pastor of the parish in 2002, and has served there ever since.
GailMarie has a BA from Laurentian and an MDiv from Wycliffe College. She was made Deacon in 2002 and then ordained to the Priesthood the following year. She is in the final stages of a Doctor of Ministry programme at the Toronto School of Theology, and is working on a research paper entitled, ‘Transformative Conversion: from believing to knowing’, which takes into account her considerable experience of working in rural congregations.
Bishop Andrews has expressed his gratitude for GailMarie’s enthusiastic and engaging ministry, and for the way she has promoted the particular gifts and needs of rural congregations. For her part, GailMarie writes that she leaves the parish with gratitude for the years she has enjoyed and the good work that has been accomplished. We join her in praying for the ‘ongoing health and vitality’ of the parish, ‘for ministry and mission to the glory of God’.
Her resignation becomes effective 31 December 2014.
