Dr Bob Derrenbacker has been elected as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion (CUAC). One of ten networks of the Anglican Communion, CUAC is a world wide association of over 120 institutions of higher education committed to promoting cross-cultural contacts and educational programs. (Dr Derrenbacker is pictured here trying to teach a young man a lesson.)
Dr Derrenbacker’s election continues a tradition of leadership in the Anglican Communion from Thorneloe University. One of Dr Derrenbacker’s predecessors, The Reverend Canon Don Thompson, left Thorneloe in 2001 to become the General Secretary of CUAC in New York. He retired from that position in 2013. The most recent Triennial CUAC Conference was held this past July in Seoul, Korea. The 2017 Conference will occur in Chennai, India.
A fuller announcement of Dr Derrenbacker’s appointment may be found on the Thorneloe web site, or Northernlife.ca.
When asked to comment on this new development, Bishop Andrews replied, 'I'm jealous.'
