Bishop Andrews is pleased to announce the appointment of The Rev’d David Knudson as the Interim Incumbent of the Parish of St John the Evangelist, Thunder Bay, effective 1 July. It is a half-time appointment until 31 December 2014.
Mr Knudson comes to us from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, where he is a rostered pastor. With an educational background in the Prairies, he has a BA in Music from Concordia in Moorhead, Minnesota, and a MDiv from Lutheran Theological Seminary. Before becoming a pastor, he was a teacher and a social worker. He has served congregations in Burstall, Saskatchewan; Starbuck, Manitoba; Edmonton, Alberta; Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Walkerton, Ontario. His last church was St Peter’s and Bethany in New Denmark, New Brunswick (2006-2011). He has served on various Lutheran boards and committees at the synod and national levels. He has been the equivalent of our Regional Dean in two conferences. He lists as his ministry priorities and interests preaching and leading worship, teaching, and pastoral care and visitation.
