The Rev'd Tom Cunningham Steps Down

Posted: Feb 24, 2013

It is with deep regret that Bishop Andrews has received the resignation of The Reverend Tom Cunningham as the Incumbent of St James’, Gravenhurst, effective 31 May 2013.  His last Sunday in the parish will be May 19th.  His resignation caps nearly thirteen years of faithful and fruitful ministry in the parish.  A graduate of Huron College, Tom served as a student minister at St Saviour’s, Blind River.  Following ordination, he was appointed to All Saints’, Gore Bay; St Peter’s, Silverwater; St John’s Kagawong (1987-1994); and then to Lake of Bays Parish (1994-2000) before coming to St James’.  This past year he celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the Priesthood.  Tom will be On Leave while he seeks direction for the future.  He and Shirley will remain in the area.
