A new deacon in the diocese

Posted: Jan 4, 2011
Bishop Stephen Andrews is pleased to announce the upcoming ordination, God willing, of Mr Douglas Charles Prebble to the Diaconate. The service will be held at St Alban’s Anglican Church in Capreol on the Feast of The Presentation of the Lord (Wednesday, 2 February) at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
Mr Prebble has an honours degree in Economics from Trent, and a Masters of Divinity degree from Tyndale University and Seminary in Toronto. He sensed God’s call on his life as a young man and has been active in Christian ministry in a variety of capacities. He has recently served as a Lay Reader at Church of the Ascension in Sudbury and as Lay Pastor to the summer congregation at St John’s, Biscotasing.  He recently attended the provincial Advisory Committee on Postulants for Ordination weekend where he was recommended for postulancy.  A successful self employed real estate appraiser, Doug is the part-time Incumbent of St Alban’s parish in Capreol. He is married to Wendy and they have three grown daughters.
