Job Posting:  Information Technology Consultant (Part–Time)

As part of our new 5 year Strategic Plan for the Anglican Diocese of Algoma, we are committed to providing appropriate technology tools to aid in the success and growth of the Diocese and its parishes.  To help us achieve this initiative, we need a passionate and enthusiastic person in a new staff position of Information and Technology Consultant (Part-Time).

Job Description

The successful applicant will provide expertise and guidance in the development of appropriate information technology systems and training in the use of those systems. The incumbent will maintain and enhance the Diocesan web-site and implement and maintain appropriate communications applications throughout the Diocese including integrated financial and business systems linking the Synod office with Parishes.

Job Requirements

Our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Successful completion of post-secondary programs appropriate to the position responsibilities
• Comprehensive knowledge of information technology systems including technology-based administrative and financial systems
• Effective teaching skills with experience in training activities as well as oral and written communication skills that would support working in a team atmosphere
• Significant experience in web-site design and web-based communication systems
• Experience in the procurement of appropriate technology systems
• The incumbent will be legally qualified to work in a position of trust

Work Environment

The Information Technology Consultant would most likely, but not necessarily, be based in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, where the Diocesan office is located. As the Diocese extends from Thunder Bay, ON, in the northwest of the province to Gravenhurst in Central Ontario, there will be overnight traveling involved in this job.

Salary and Benefits

This is a part-time position, anticipated to be 60% for the first 2 years
